The Winchester Housing Authority reached our 50th Anniversary milestone in 2006; which truly says a great deal about its founders and the many Commissioners that have followed.

The success of this organization, one of the most accomplished in Connecticut, finds itself at an exciting crossroad. While it is an accepted fact that there has always been need for housing assistance in Winsted of one kind or another, the Housing Authority now finds itself in a position to add even more help.

In 2003 a newly created non-profit, The Winchester Housing Authority Development Corporation (WHADC), went to work. This corporation is a sub-set of Winchester Housing Authority, and works under its guidance.
